The B Block heats up at the G1 Climax Night 12

It was another single camera action night as the B Block continued in the top half of the G1 Climax Night 12.

Michael Elgin and Yuji Nagata started things off. Nagata looked very solid against Elgin. This was probably one of his high points in the touranment, but another buckle bomb/sitout powerbomb combo brought Elgin up to 8 points, already a great number for a debuting gaijin. He and Nagata shook hands post-match in a great sign of respect.

In the second tournament match of the night, Tomoaki Honma sought to finally get on the board, but he had a tall task against an angry Karl Anderson. Honma looked great again in action here, but he still couldn't quite get the win against the Bullet Club's leader.

Another impressive showing, but Honma still couldn't get the win.

Hirooki Goto and Satoshi Kojima both wrestle a similar hard hitting style. Neither men disappointed in delivering that style as they brutalized each other with punches, kicks and suplexes. Kojima continues his losing streak though and falls to Goto.

Yujiro Takahashi gets his highest place on a G1 card as he challenged Shinsuke Nakamura in the semi-main event. But Nakamura has been on fire since his return to the tournament and wasn't going to slow down tonight. He took home the big win to keep him just short of the top spot.

The final match of the night between IWGP Heavyweight champion Kazuchika Okada and Tomohiro Ishii would determine that top spot, as the two men sat alone at 8 points going into Night 12. The two CHAOS stablemates worked hard to top the other one, but the veteran midcarder Ishii couldn't stand up to the unending assault of The Rainmaker. Okada walked out with ten points and as the current wins leader of the entire tournament.

With only three more shows left, Yuji Nagata and Tomoaki Honma have been eliminated as potential G1 winners while Kojima and Takahashi are both one match away from the same.

Action kicks off again on Saturday as A Block has an explosive main event pitting Hiroshi Tanahashi and Katsuyori Shibata in a battle that will set only one at 10 points. Naito, Styles, Makabe and Fale will all look to stay in the hunt as well, while Ibushi has to get a win over Fale or fall out of contention entirely.

Sunday's Night 14 could be a make or break night for several stars as the G1 with only two more rounds after it. Michael Elgin vs. Karl Anderson and Hirooki Goto vs. Tomohiro Ishii all have huge implications in determining which two stars stay in the hunt, while Nakamura will have to keep his winning ways over Honma and Okada can stay at top with a win over Yujiro.
